She has developed friendships and cherishes her relationships with her teachers. We love that Ankeny Dance allows you to invest in as much time and commitment that works for your family. She is now a part of the competition team and appreciates the added challenge and technique that has provided. Musical theater is one of her favorite styles and she has wonderful memories of being part of their Broadway Camp in the summer! Their recitals are hard to top. This photo is from years ago when the recital theme was the Iowa State Fair. Every other year, they get those dads on stage too and there isn't a dry eye in the house! My daughters are 14 and 10 and have been part of Ankeny Dance since they were three years old. We originally chose the studio because of its convenient location and class schedule, but we've stayed for more than a decade because of the people. It has truly become a second home for our family. Most of my oldest daughter's closest friends have come from the studio, and I've been fortunate to meet incredible dance parents who have become close friends as well. What makes Ankeny Dance special is its people. Katelyn, the current owner, was actually my oldest daughter's very first dance teacher. She genuinely cares about every dancer who walks through the door. That same philosophy was established by Sarah before her, and it remains part of the studio's culture today. Every dancer matters here. Over the years, I've watched both of my daughters grow in confidence, build lifelong friendships, and develop not only as dancers but as people. When my younger daughter took some time away from dance for personal reasons, the support and encouragement she received when she was ready to return meant more to our family than I can put into words. I also have a unique perspective because I've worked part-time in the office for the last few years. Having seen both sides, as a parent and behind the scenes, I can honestly say the care, effort, and heart that go into this studio are real. The teachers and staff spend countless hours creating an environment where dancers feel supported, challenged, and valued. We are fortunate to have many great dance options in Ankeny, but Ankeny Dance has been the right fit for our family for over a decade. The friendships, confidence, life lessons, and memories my daughters have gained here are something I'll always be grateful for.
